Dr. Buttar is the Medical Director for the Centers for Advanced Medicine where he has directed the care of patients from over 90 countries over the last 23 years. He graduated from Washington University with a double major in Biology and Theology, and then attended medical school at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, College of Medicine and Surgery. He trained in General Surgery and Emergency Medicine and served as Brigade Surgeon and Director of Emergency Medicine while serving in the U.S. Army. Dr. Buttar is board certified in Clinical Metal Toxicology, Preventive Medicine, is board eligible in Emergency Medicine and has achieved fellowship status in three separate medical societies. He served as the President of NCIMS, Chairman of the ABCMT, has been involved in polypeptide research and development of innovative drug delivery mechanisms and has served as faculty at North Carolina State University as well as an instructor for PALS, ACLS and ATLS through the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Buttar has lectured world-wide, been featured in national and international media and has testified before the US Congress. He is ranked among the “Top 50 Doctors in the US” and his first book, "The 9 Steps to Keep the Doctor Away" became an international best seller, now translated into multiple languages.
